Sorry so quiet in the blogspohere. Turns out: a nanny search takes up every available second and ounce of energy. When I haven't been shaking down every lead I can find for a potential long-term care giver, I've been finding short-term solutions to keep the little fella day-to-day. Ever tried to find a babysitter for a night? Let me just say, it's not easy. Try finding someone for every day of the week, 8 hours a day for a few weeks. then each day 'training' that new person on how the little fella's day should move... and if I don't give enough information, it's the wee one who pays the price. So DO IT RIGHT, Moma! I'll also point out - it is a really crappy feeling at the end of each day to wonder who the person is that you will be trusting your child with tomorrow. And at the same time: I'm lucky to have a 'back-up care' service through work and the local nanny agencies. So glad to be at the end of this search. Meanwhile, we have given some serious thought to getting an Au Pair. So who knows... Juggling, spinning, juggling, twirling.... and we did finally get a car. so the one-car-family thing lasted about a month, just for added logistical complexity. ah, good times. :) with the completion of this task: evenings and saturdays have been returned to our bucket of time to do something else with. hooray! and as it always seems to work out - a little volunteer commitment has turned out to be much more than i expected. next up: furnishing and decorating the cabana. catching my breath. Kate's wedding & parties. business trip to Brazil.

Yay! SO glad that everything is falling in place for you. I can't wait to see the cabana in person...although I think that will be quite a while before we make it to Austin. We have extra luggage now.
