Hope you enjoyed the show!!

--these were the last words I heard the Austin Energy guys holler as they were packing up to leave tonight. The transistor for our block blew out again(!) and we finally got a new one. Horray!! Too much time without electricity lately, in my opinion.

The best part about laying on our kitchen floor in the dark without air conditioning on what has been the hottest day of the year to date? the fact that we could hear almost every word spoken by the crew. Occassionally they'd get quiet... But then an eruption of laughter followed by a text from Lizzy (our friends and neighbors): "wonder what's so funny?"....and then we'd erupt into laughter. In a dark hit kitchen with my bare back on the floor eating tortilla chips... In case you missed the ridiculous-ness the first time around.

After the lights and electricity kicked back in and I darted around the house turning things off as to noe wake up the baby... I ran out back to thank the workers. Mostly for the power and for the fact that they are willing to fo this kind of work... But honestly, a good chunk of the appreciation WAS in fact, for the entertainment. :)

Engaged in my Driveway!!

...where they spent their first evening chatting away. They meet in our kitchen before we went on their set-up date to Mandolas. Keri & Greg are absolutely two of the kindest, most thoughtful and endearing people I know. The kind you always hope finds someone worthy of their sweet ways.

I am delighted that they are together and get each other til death do they part.

I am looking forward to many years to come with these two love birds.

All is well in the world.

Accuracy

I really didn't want to test the accuracy of this measurement today. Let's just say it was an uncomfortable 5 min until the first available gas station on my drive home.

Mr. Fix It

For our 6th anniversary, I received and iron chimenea (who hoo!) and gave some 'iron' patio furniture. (iron & candy are the traditional 6 year gifts) Shorty saw me putting some if it together. An hour later, this brilliant bebe seemingly 'checked' and wiggled one of the bolts then proceeded to grab a 'tool' (that came with the furniture) and tighten it. We watched in amazement as he so impressively knew just what to do... And then worked on it for quite awhile.

New Nephew

Dylan Wayne was born this morning.

BEVO and Coach Brown pictures

Hooray for the coaching staff!!  We had a great time last weekend and someone was kind enough to email me these pictures.  Since I am still quite a way off from downloading pictures from the weekend... these are quite lovely.

And there seemed to be a pattern this week: the president of EASB forwarded a picture of Mr. Price and yours truly with sweet Hillarey at the Seton Gala which was the night before.  I'll forward/post that momentarily.

LOVE when people share pictures.  Love it, love it, love it.  I'm to a point where I am drowning in a backlog of photos and I wonder if I'll ever catch up...

Lights out

In keeping with a theme lately (the uphill-battle-type theme) one of our circuit breaker boxes -or something like that- went out on Saturday night right as the babysitter arrived and Mr Price was on his way to Kate & Mitch's the wedding. So, the upstairs AC, the fridge (not the freezer) and most of the downstairs lights and outlets are not working. We *think* we have someone coming tomorrow... But we'll just see if they show up.

Thankfully: we've got a fridge in the cabana (save the milk for the shorty!!) and it was cool last night (open the doors because our bedroom was an inferno otherwise!)

EASB Gala

As the grand finale to 'fundraising season 2011' - the Seton Gala delivered! It was a great party at a great location and Clint Black was rockin it! During his encore he played the drums while one of the band members sang Steely Dan's "Josie" and played the saxophone. Turns out, Clink Black can wail on those drums. Impressive.

Little Longhorn Gear

Coach Brown found a new friend in a particular blonde haired little buddy on Sunday and kindly autographed his jersey. That same little buddy was surprisingly comfortable with Major, to the point that he hugged on the Coach's leg the way he generally reserves for mom and dad. Again reinforcing that he is a truly stand-up guy, instantly winning the affection and approval of my munchkin. :)

We had a great time at the Moffett's house with all the coaches, BEVO (in all his glory), and the BBQ was delicious! About 20 minutes after it ended, the cold front came through and the temperature dropped 10 degrees with a single breeze. Felt like someone opened a giant refrigerator door.

All that, and we raised some money for a good cause! At least a dozen scholarships will be given out as a result of the party. Hooray!!
